Measurement Form

Before taking your measurements you must decide how you want to wear the kilt. There are 2 options; the traditional kilt which sits 5 centimetres above the waist or the hipster kilt that sits on the waist.

Please take the measurements in centimetres. Stand looking straight forward, feet together, arms by your side. Do NOT take the measurements by yourself. Please note that the garment will be made exactly to the measurements supplied. Tribal Tartans do not accept any liability if these prove to be wrong and a remaking charge may apply.

Measure Man

Waist (c&d)
Traditional Kilt (c). This should be taken  just below the rib cage and  has to be taken firmly because the kilt will only stay up there if taken firmly enough.

 Fashion Kilt (d). Take this quite firmly, around the actual waist where trousers usually sit. This measurement will be similar or a little less than your normal trouser waist.
Seat/Hips (e)
Take this measurement firmly but not tightly, over your trousers.  Care should be taken that the seat measurement is taken over the widest part of the hips.
Kilt Length (f)
Traditional Kilt. Take length measurement from just below the rib cage (c) down to the middle of the knee cap.

Fashion Kilt. Take length measurement from the natural waist (d) down to the middle of the knee cap.

If you want to wear the kilt longer or shorter, measure accordingly. Be sure you advise us of this,  otherwise we will query the length.
Height (g)
Please state your overall height as this is used to check the length measurement.
Chest/Bust (b) Sleeve Length (a)
Measure the chest/bust around the fullest part making sure the tape is well up at the back over the shoulder blades. Measure from the crown of the shoulder to the cuff with the arm straight down.
Outside Leg Inside Leg
Measure from natural waistline to the hem. Measure from top of the inside leg at the crotch to the hem.
